About Dianne

Dianne Walker, MBA, CM

Grounded in Experience. Guided by Faith.

Dianne Walker is a Michigan-based executive, business consultant, and first-time author whose debut book, A Relationship with God: A Journey to Knowing Him, draws on a career spanning more than three decades of operational leadership and a personal journey that reshaped her understanding of purpose.

Walker built her professional reputation over 26 years in airport operations, culminating in her role as Director of Airfield Operations at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Earlier in her career, she was appointed Deputy Director at Willow Run Airport, the first African American woman to hold that position, where she oversaw a 2,700-acre facility, capital improvement programs, and stakeholder coordination across major infrastructure projects.

Her operational expertise extended to first responder coordination, safety program development, and enterprise asset management. In 2007, she was selected to serve on the Los Angeles World Airports Special Peer Review Group for the LAX North Airfield, a national panel of senior aviation experts convened to evaluate safety and capacity improvements at one of the world's busiest airports.

Following her retirement from aviation in 2016, Walker founded Dianne Walker LLC, providing business consulting services to small businesses and entrepreneurs. She has served as a Technical Assistance Consultant for the City of Detroit's Motor City Match program, a partnership between the Detroit Economic Development Corporation and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She has contributed to community outreach for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.

Her life shifted when she began attending a newly established church, where she felt called to serve in children's ministry. Her call carried a specific assignment: to teach children that God loved them and wanted a relationship with them. It led her to earn her Children's Ministry License in 2021 and later to graduate from a School of Ministry. A Relationship with God: A Journey to Knowing Him grew out of that calling.

The book traces Walker's path from a woman who had known about God for most of her life to one who came to know Him personally, and it speaks to readers who have spent years in religious routine without ever experiencing that same personal connection. Drawing on her own turning point, Walker writes candidly about the difference between knowing about God and truly knowing Him, offering readers a way to move from religious obligation into genuine relationship.

Walker holds a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is an AAAE Certified Member, lives in Michigan with her husband, and has three children.
