My mother came to live with my husband and me when she became ill. I knew she needed care, and I was glad to give it. But one day the realization came that she was dying — and there was nothing I could do about it.

So, in the kitchen, I began crying out to the Lord for help. I was exhausted. I did not know what to do. And in that moment, with my spiritual eyes, I could see the white clouds in the sky part, and a bright light shone down on me. I knew immediately that it was a message from God — that everything was going to be alright. He was already there with me through my time of pain and crisis. Comforting me and caring for me while I cared for a parent who was transitioning to Him.

That was the moment I stopped keeping God at arm’s length and started actually walking with Him. I had sinned, laying my Bible down for years. I had made more mistakes than I wanted to count.

But I was honest — and that was enough for Him to meet me.

He Has Never Required You to Have It Together First

What the Bible shows us — from the prodigal son running home in rags, to the woman at the well, to the thief on the cross — is a God who meets people exactly where they are — not where they planned to be, but where they actually are.

He built the bridge back to Himself through Jesus Christ — not because we deserved it, but because that is who He is.

If You Feel Too Far Gone

If you feel that you have made too many mistakes — think again.

If you feel that God will not hear you — think again.

If you feel that the distance between you and Him is too great to cross — think again.

He is a God of love, and He is waiting for you to turn back to Him. He will help you with whatever you are carrying — the pain, the hurt, the disappointment, the years, the regret. And if you allow Him, He will carry it for you. He will show you the way — the
path to His love, His peace, and His joy.

That is not a promise I am making. That is what He has already said.

A Prayer for Anyone Who Is Ready

Father, I come to You as I am. I believe Jesus is Your Son, that He died for my sins, rose again, and is alive right now. I invite Him into my heart and into my life. I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus is Lord.

Thank You — I am now Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
